Circular Economy in Tourism and Hospitality: A Review of Selected Publications

This paper offers a clear and concise litterature review on circular economy related to turism and hospitality. 14 are articles from peer-reviewed journals , 2 consultancy pieces and 1 blog entry. The purpose is to explore the main ideas and discussion lines, gathered in three domains: conceptual ideas, transition proposals, and good practices. The last include three experiences from Croatia, Greece and Thailand, all mature destinations. It is argued that circular economy has thus a strong economic and educational potential. By opting for circular economy the tourist industry would make a clear commitment towards conservation of natural and cultural heriatge for future generations and for a societal well-being.
