This work provides an exhaustive journey through the thought of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, known as the “Green Patriarch”, and the Spokesperson of the Orthodox Church. Of all contemporary Christian thinkers and writers, it is Patriarch Bartholomew I who has worked hardest on the construction of a Christian response to the challenges being raised by the world’s environmental crisis, as his efforts to construct links with other churches and religions, politicians and governments, academics and journalists show.
