Declaration of the fundamental principals regarding the environment and natural resources to be followed by the Cistercian monasteries of the Crown of Aragon. The intentions and proposals included in this Declaration are to be taken into account and respected by monastic communities in general and by the monks and nuns that belong to this Congregation.The ecological re-conversion discussed in this Declaration deals with air, water, energy, soils, cultivation, trades and waste, forests and biodiversity. In all cases the best possible practices are to be implemented.As an annex is added the Chapter 10 of the ‘Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church’, which contains the most important statements by the Magisterium of the Catholic Church concerning environmental issues.
