El Desierto de Las Palmas durante el siglo XIX

The history of the Carmelite Desert of Las Palmas, Valencian Community, Spain, is re-examined from a comprehensive historical perspective, to better explain why it was not confiscated in any of the successive government attempts, during the 19th century, and was capable of maintain its character as a natural area (nowadays legally protected) dedicated to contemplation, guarded by Discalced Carmelite communities until the present, based on preserved documentary sources.
