In contemplative practice we also understand, from the full consciousness of the unity of life, that our transformation transforms the world. (…) We trust that we will offer our best gifts to others and to life if we are faithful to our own heart, to what is for us a source of deep meaning and contentment. (…) We avoid, in this way, the trap of utility: the one that leads us to confuse the commitment to restless activism, with the ‘helping’ alienation, with the reactivity to the urgencies and immediate demands eluded by listening to the direction that our inner being claims, or with the consecration ‘to the social’ once the keys of our own interiority are lost .
