Tranquillity Areas in the French Alps: Definition, Delimitation & Implementation

Mountain Wilderness France has contributed to the achievement of French commitments of the Alpine Convention, an international treaty from the eight countries in the Alps, with a study about the alpine “tranquility areas”. This document defines in detail the concept of tranquility, examines the state of the issue and describes the French legal framework. It should be noted the proposals about the delimitation of tranquility areas based on a detailed inventory.
