Teología de la Ecología
Vladimir Serrano Pérez, ed. 1991
The volume, a pioneer in many respects in Latin America, brings together papers presented at an event organized in Ecuador, the year before the 1st Earth Summit, as an echo of the cry of invocation to renew life, to preserve creation, to restore awareness of God’s presence and mystery in the world. The first part contains the key-note papers by Vladimir Serrano and José Ignacio Vara, as well as four short articles, translated from the book “Die Erde bewahren“, the result of another meeting of Christians in Düsseldorf, Germany, held in 1985. The second part is dedicated to the pastoral care of ecology, with articles by Alfons Messner and Juan Palomino. The third part is devoted to religions and ecology, with contributions from Mahmoud Samandari and Gunther Reck. The fourth part addresses the issue of women and ecology, with presentations by Nelsa Curvelo, Ximena Costales, Cecilia Chérrez and Rubén Díaz. The book aims to be an invocation to redefine the limits of our freedom in the dimensions of unity with God and the Earth, from the dimensions of love, surprise, admiration, respect and recreation of the life.
