Barefoot Art for the Earth, at the Sant Jeroni de la Murtra Monastery

The second step of the Art descalç per la Terra project that intertwines art, spirituality and caring for the earth took place last February 4. Around seventy people gathered at the Monastery of Sant Jeroni de la Murtra, Badalona, to participate in the Matinal Touching feet on Earth, as part of the “Barefoot Art for the Earth” project, of Art LS’. This project is developed with the voluntary involvement of a group of artists of various ages, disciplines and of different spiritual sensibilities, with the aim of promoting a new link with Nature through Art.
The first step of the project was the Meditation Meeting for the Earth through Art, which took place last November in Vil·la Joana. Although the emphasis of that initial action was on the spiritual connection with Nature, that of this Toquem de peus a Terra meeting focused on becoming aware of the conflicts we have open with Nature; in particular those related to the background theme of this 1st edition: the land grab from natural systems and farmers; with the aim of discerning together new ways of living in our common home.
