Faith for Nature: Multi-Faith Action Conference

The multi-faith action conference on ‘Faith for Nature’ will be held in Iceland from 5 to 8 October, organized by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Earthwork Organization and the Government of Iceland. The conference will lay the groundwork for interfaith collaboration for sustainable and regenerative development to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its main objectives are: To identify the relevance and the way to follow in the mobilization of values, ethics, spirituality and actions based on the faith to reach the SDGs, and to facilitate to the faith organizations the action towards the SDGs and in the cooperation for sustainable and regenerative development, with the aim of approving the establishment of a global coalition “Faith for the Earth”. The Conference is expected to conclude with a final statement inviting all world religions to participate in the fifth session of the UN Assembly for the Environment (February 2021), the COP 26 and others.
