French orthodox Christianity and ecology gathering in a sacred natural site
Monastery of Saint Michel du Var (Provence, France) 27 Septembre 2018
With the organization of the meeting “Christianity and ecology”, the French Orthodox Church wanted to open the path of the embodiment of the ecological project that it has promoted for years. A path to the service of the great “Easter of the Nations” (Passage or Transition) in which the humanity seems to have entered now.
The meeting, proposed on the occasion of festivity of the Archangel Michael, aims to address various aspects of the global ecological vision that presides over the creation of the ‘sacred ecosite’ in Christ, in the monastery of Saint-Michel du Var: the theological foundations of Orthodox Christianity, the promotion of the ecological conversion of the site and human attitudes, and calling for a profound work of internal transformation.
The monastery Saint Michel du Var is member of the ‘Réseau d’écosites sacrés’ created in French speaking countries.
