IUCN World Conservation Congress, Marseille, France
Marseille, France3-10 September 2021
The IUCN World Nature Congress, which was postponed last year, will take place from 3 to 10 September in Marseille (France). With a hybrid approach: in-person and virtual, it will be the first world congress, since the beginning of the pandemic, which will address nature-based recovery, climate change and biodiversity conservation for decades to come.
The Silene Association has collaborated in the elaboration of two best practice guidelines of the World Commision on Protected Areas, which will be officially presented in the Congress: one on the cultural and spiritual significance of Nature in the governance and management of protected and conserved natural areas, and the other on the conservation of geoheritage in protected natural areas.
