This will be the first university course offered in Spain for the purpose of addressing the meanings and values of nature. It is proposed to adopt a thorough and inclusive manner, from an applied and theoretical points of view at the same time. The course aims to train skilled professionals. The course will also provide a space for reflection, training and dissemination of the deepest reasons we have to commit ourselves to live and act in favor of nature. It will also discuss the implications that these reasons have towards personal and collective ethics, along the deep ecology approaches, to integrate them into the daily operation of organizations and institutions, whether public, private or from the third sector.
The Silene Association collaborates with the course, which is directed by Josep M. Mallarach, Silene coordinator.
Calendar and schedule: From February 5 to July 15, 2016, Fridays afternoon, from 16 to 20 h.
Location: Faculty of Arts at the University of Girona, Catalonia, Spain.
Duration: 250 hours (70 classroom hours and 180 hours of study and tutoring / 10 ECTS).
