The challenges of recovering the spiritual link with nature in today’s Christianity
Faculty of Theology, Barcelona10 October 2022
The inaugural lesson of the 2022-23 academic year of the Joan Maragall Foundation was given, for the first time, by a person from the natural sciences, and not from philosophy or theology, as is usual. In the framework of the so-called “Triptych of the pandemic” and with the course motto “Overflowing nature”, Josep Maria Mallarach, president of the Silene Association, spoke about the challenges of recovering the spiritual link with nature, in Christianity of today. Josep Maria Mallarach discussed how and why we have reached the global systemic crisis, and suggested to recover the spiritual bond with nature based on six ‘best practices’, which have proven their effectiveness, in several countries on five continents where he had the opportunity to work, all of them accompanied by inspiring examples.
