Launching the Health and Nature Intersectoral Table of Catalonia

On 7, 8 and 9 July, a telematic workshop was held to promote the Health and Nature Intersectoral Table, agreed in the Declaration on the Interdependence between Health and Nature in Catalonia, approved in January 2019, after a participatory process started the previous fall. Fifty people, representing 45 organizations linked to the public, social and private sectors, have faced the challenge of setting up the intersectoral table promoted by the Xarxa de Conservació de la Natura. Following the mandate of the 2019 Declaration, participants have developed a Strategic Plan, with several strategic and operational objectives,  20 actions for 2025, in addition to several pilot projects to be developed over the next two years. Josep Maria Mallarach took part on behalf of the Silene Association.

During the series of debates with national and international experts (2018-19) that culminated in the aforementioned statement, Josep M. Mallarach, made a presentation on the links between nature and spiritual health, following the holistic approach of  the Healthy Parks, Healthy People programs promoted by the IUCN based on the experience developed in several Western countries.
