Protected Landscapes and Cultural and Spiritual Values

This publication presents case studies from all over the world illustrating the role Protected landscapes are playing in sustaining the values and related knowledge and practices of local populations. A synthesis focuses on the key lessons to be learned from these case studies, analyses the strenghts and weaknesses of these areas in achieving conservation goals, identifies key gaps in knowledge, an presents a glimpse of further work needed.

The book was presented at the IUCN World Conservation Congress, Barcelona, 2008. The Spanish translation was published in 2009.
