Course Art and Nature: the relationship between the cosmos and the human being through art

The course proposes a reflection on the relationship between art and nature, with an interdisciplinary approach that combines the psychological and philosophical interpretation of works of art and manifestations cultures from different historical periods, to seek a possible recovery of a forgotten vision of the world based on harmony between human beings and nature.

The relationship between the microcosmic and the macrocosmic plane will be explained through the study of an analogical and symbolic conception of art understood as one of the ways of being aware of a ‘congeniality’ or ‘sympathy’ between human life and  ‘universal’ life proper to the natural domain.

The meaning and cultural and symbolic importance of an art that is in line with a universal Logos or Anima Mundi (Soul of the World) leads us to understand artistic manifestations as human activities that promote an inner process of self-knowledge and personal transformation. Thus art becomes a gateway to the archetypal world.
