Inner Development Goals: Transformational Skills for Sustainable Development
Thomas Jordan et al2029
In 2015, the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals offered a comprehensive plan for a sustainable world by 2030. These 17 goals cover a wide range of issues involving people with very different needs, values and beliefs. There is a clear vision of what should happen, but progress towards that vision has so far been disappointing. Above all, we lack the internal capacity to deal with our environment and increasingly complex challenges. It takes internal qualities and skills that we all need now. This was the starting point of the Inner Development Goals Initiative, which works to identify, popularize and support the development of relevant skills, abilities and qualities for inner growth, through conscious supporting organizations, companies and institutions , to better face global challenges. In this first version, IDG proposes 23 qualities, or habilities, grouped into five areas.
