Nature and traditional worlds

The author analyses the different traditional visions (from Japanese Shintoism to Islam, via Buddhism, Taoism and the beliefs of the North-American Indians) of the sacred nature and role of man as guardian of the rhythms and harmony of the natural world. This book also analyses the decadence from the Golden Age, when humans were aware of the presence of the sacred dimension, to the Iron Age, in which we are living, when humans ignore the most spiritual aspects of the natural world. Finally, the author reaffirms that traditional knowledge is compatible with scientific knowledge, which, after all, is based on observation and experience, concepts that also form part of traditional knowledge.
