The introduction includes an overview of the subjects of religion and nature, the different factors that led to the writing of this encyclopaedia, comments on the most important entries, and speculation regarding the future of the relationship between nature and religion. Following on from the introduction there is guide that provides readers with an idea of how this work should be used and the different types of entries it includes.
