This paper presents a scholarly exposition of the Desert Fathers’ view of nature and the relationship they established with it. It describes above all the views of the great ascetics and hermits of the early centuries of Christianity (3rd–5th) who lived in the deserts of Egypt, Syria and Judea, which are analyzed and documented using original sources.
