Current Status, Ownership and Management of Sacred Sites in the Rwenzori Mountains. Survey report and management proposals
Muhumuza, Moses2012
The report examines the historical and current place of sacred sites in the lives and societies of the Bakonjo and Bamba ‘Mountain People’ and discusses how the sites and associated institutions relate to the management of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park and World Heritage Site. It is based on field work conducted between 2006-2011, and is intended to lead to further integration of cultural values into the management framework of Rwenzori Mountains National Park and in turn offer learning to other protected areas in Uganda and elsewhere.
