Connecting with Nature to Care for Ourselves and the Earth
Nature for All; Childerns and Nature Network, IUCN Commission Education and Communication 2018
The ONG Nature for All, together with the Children and Nature Network and the IUCN Commission on Education and Communication launched a new report titled “Connecting with Nature to Care for Ourselves and the Earth” at the UN Biodiversity conference in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt, on November 22, 2018.
This concise and inspiring publication, presents evidence that when people experience nature ourselves, in our own lives, then we are much more likely to appreciate and care for it. Experiences in nature, whether in cities or national parks, make us happier and healthier. A growing body of international research demonstrates that personal contact with nature has significant personal and societal health and well-being benefits. Our connections with nature also influence the way we behave.
