Inteligencia vital
Jordi Pigem 2016
In this interview, Dr. Jordi Pigem, a philosopher of science, summarizes the postmaterialist vision of life and consciousness that he exposes in his new book Inteligencia vital (Vital Intelligence), published by the editor Kairós in 2015 (in Catalan and Spanish version).
Some of the most relevant points are that every living being is endowed with perception, sensitivity and intelligence, even unicellular beings; that the multiple dimensions of human intelligence arise from vital intelligence; that there is no ‘artificial intelligence’, since machines do not think, but instead apply fixed rules; and that what guides the development of living organisms is not the tendency to survival, but to self-realization.
