Kanha Shanti Vanam centre, India: a large-scale meditation and ecological restoration project

On January 28, 2019, the world’s largest meditation pavilion, which can house about 50,000 people,was inaugurated at Kanha Shanti Vanam, the headquarters of the Shri Ram Shandra Mission and Heartfulness Institute, which now celebrates its 75th anniversary of a meditation practice inspired by the Raja Yoga, addressed to people of all faiths, and is followed, among thousands of others, by the country’s president, honorable Sri Ram Nath Kovind, who wanted to be present at the event.
In the territory where this pavilion is located in an arid region of the state of Telanga, in the center of the country, a large-scale ecological restoration project has been developed, which wants to be a reference of harmony with the nature, in the use of renewable energy, local ecological nutrition, recovery of native flora, etc. despite the fact that Ashram’s hostels are home to thousands of people around the world who are meditating and offering their selfless services.
