Som Mar Association: Promoting Marine Consciousness and Responsibility

The Som Mar Association has just been born in the Costa Brava, with the purpose of helping to recover a deep relationship with nature and reestablish a relationship of esteem, love and respect with the sea and the waters of the world, developing a new “Marine Consciousness”.

The purpose of Som Mar (We are the Sea) is to raise awareness of the sea as a living being and sacred natural site – currently very damaged – that is essential for our integral health. Som Mar’s vision is the recovery of an optimum state of health of the Mediterranean Sea and its coast. To this end, wants to generate initiatives to develope a greater ecological and social responsibility.

The first relevant activity will be the organization of the conferences “The Sea as an area for integral health”, which is scheduled to take place in Llançà, Catalonia, on September 18, 19 and 20, 2020, in which Silene Association is also involved.
